About Us
The mission
In 1975 in obedience to the message of God (Matt. 10: 7-10), Rev Daniel Himmans-Arday traveled to London in the United Kingdom where he established a Prayer Group (which would later be converted into a full “Evangelical Church some twenty years later). He was “directed” to base in The Netherlands. And so in 1976, he came to establish the “True Teaching of Christ Temple” (the very first independent Evangelical Church established by an African south of the Sahara, possibly in Europe and certainly in The Netherlands (Holland).
In the 1980s despite the fact that the call may be sufficient for any spirit-filled man of God, (having previously received ordination from 2 prominent ministers), Daniel would enroll as a distant student at the UK Center for Pre and Post Undergraduate Theological College – LBC from where he graduated and was commissioned with a higher diploma in THEOLOGY. Also, he graduated with a diploma in Christian Administration, Counseling and Organizing, Elements of New Testament Greek, Method of Church Management, and Youth Training.
In 1980, Daniel went back to Ghana to establish the prayer post of the Church led by Pastors Ishmael Deh and Christie Matthews and later on converted it into an international Church called ICCMC (International Christian Church and Missionary Center) and replicate it later in Washington state USA. In 1984 Daniel established a branch of the Church in Hamburg, Germany. Recently under the command of the Holy Spirit, Daniel again entered the United States, visiting Six States and 9 cities to establish the international network of True Christian Evangelism which is now known as ICCMC Seatle USA. He has planted prayer contacts in New York, Virginia, Connecticut, Machetucets, and recently Kansas.
schooling days
the humble beginning
Our Reverend Minister and founder of the T.T.C.T. - True Teaching of Christ’s Temple (worldwide) Daniel (Owura Kwesi Paa Nii) Himmans-Arday was born to the late policeman father Moses Kwamina (Himmans) a strict Methodist Christian and the late school teacher mother Elizabeth Comfort Naa Ayele (Himmans-Arday), a pious Christian and leader of the Accra Methodist Women fellowship. Daniel was born on a quiet Sunday morning (6th June 1943). Daniel believes his birth to be in Agogo in the Ashanti region. Yet, the family elder said he was born in Accra as his birth certificate also indicates his Accra birth and together with his parents, were transferred to Agogo in the Ashanti region.
When Daniel was 2 years old, his father who was then stationed at Agogo, was posted from Agogo to Accra at a time when his wife Elizabeth Comfort was pregnant with her third child who was later to be known as Coach Samuel Himmans Arday of Ghana. Elder Brother Isaac had been born three years earlier. Daniel remained in the region with friendly families until his dad came back for him to visit his very sick mother (Elizabeth Comfort). In 1949, however, his mother died.
6-year-old Daniel was then taken seriously ill for almost a year which introduced him to several early biblical signs and which also delayed his entry into mainstream basic schooling (known as primary – elementary schooling).
Daniel started primary education at the Cape Coast Methodist Primary School from 'Class Two' (instead of the usual 'class one') why? Because Headmaster Graham found him to be too intelligent for the lower class. And Master Graham and his son, teacher Graham were not disappointed. For class teacher, Hanna would always be heaping praises at him. At age 8, Daniel captained the Methodist Primary school in a soccer match to defeat the local Phillip Quacoo school in which he scored the winning goal of which he made a lot of friends including a later to be famous trumpeter called Hammond whom he will later meet in the army.
Being a child of a policeman, Daniel would travel with his widower father more than his two brothers and in the process be changing schools. From Accra to Cape Coast, Swedru, Wineba, Akim Oda, Kumasi, Domaah Ahenkoro, Tamale, and other places but finally, Daniel would complete his elementary schooling at the Ghana National School, Accra, and followed it up at New Era Secondary School till the end where he would study English literature. The New Era secondary school at that time was a stone's throw away from his family house which was very close to Kolewokon in Accra. (That was the period when Master Ashun was the headmaster and the favorite boxer of the school was known as Offei).
LIFE After Schooling
After his schooling, Daniel worked for a brief moment with the Accra municipal council and then in 1962 he and his bosom friend Sun Beam (nickname) joined the army. He started training to be a military man in 1963. He rose through the ranks up to a sergeant and assistant head to the printing press composing section. He was a great footballer. He played for various clubs and captained the Ghana Armed Forces Ministry of Defense team for several years. That was the time some members of his team were playing for the Ghana national team, The Black Stars. Some of them are Ohene Brenyah and Joe Ghartey. He also teamed up with 3 friends to establish a popular musical group called ‘Super Channels’ which gained national popularity in the 1960s.
The CALLING
In 1971 Daniel was taken seriously ill. This initially baffled the entire family because of the nature of his ailment, for his sister a qualified midwife Cece Arday would take his pulse and would not understand why Daniel was still alive. This is because on so many occasions Daniel had no pulse. His other sister Dina C (also a qualified midwife) would come out with a scientific reason for Daniel's sudden transformation and they both concluded that it was the act of God, which happened to be a prelude to his calling. And for 3 solid years, he would be fighting for his life. In the process, he would receive the call from God. Throughout the calling, only 2 people have laid their hands on him in ordination. The first is Rev Yeboa Koree who laid his hand on him and declared him a man of God in Daniel's house. The second would be Rev Koomson then the president of the Pentecostal Council of Churches who would lay his hand on him in ordination and they would embark upon a crusade in the 80s when Daniel visited Africa for the first time after his call.

the spouse
Lena Koshie Maanan was born in Accra on the 7th day of July 1949 to a Government Administrator father (of Presbyterian background) Mr. Samuel Akpakli and a disciplined Methodist Christian mother of great trading ability, Mrs. Joana Baku. Lena attended preparatory school at the age of 3 and started primary education at the age of 5 at Presbyterian Primary School, a stone's throw from her place of residence. She completed her higher education at Akropong Girls’ Boarding (Training) School in the Eastern Region of Ghana in 1966. She was then employed as Sales Manageress at her industrialist brother Ben Kumah’s own TEXTILE PRODUCTION ORGANIZATION called KUMATEX in Accra. In 1968 she married her childhood sweetheart (Daniel) and blessed their marriage at the Methodist church in Accra. They had their first son in December of that year. After that, she broke away from the brother’s organization and with the help of her husband established her own store business of assorted high-quality bags, clothes, shirts, blouses, shoes, etc. Their firstborn Sey died in 1972 when Daniel was still struggling for his life as God was calling him. After the “call” of her husband, she committed herself to raise up the children while still supporting her husband in missionary work. The second son Moses was born in 1974 and Lena joined her husband briefly in 1976. She would then be shuttling between maintaining the household and following the husband on his missionary trips. The third son Daniel would be born in London in 1978 and the last born Ruth would be born in 1989 (also in London). Settled at the base she registered to study Christian Evangelism at the TTCT Bible Training school from where she was commissioned and ordained Head Evangelist for some time. And upon relinquishing the post she was appointed Divine Supervisor of the Church with responsibilities of Counselling married couples, hosting guests, and training the youth of teenage standards for higher office.
With the boys now grown and Ruth brought from England to settle in the Netherlands the journey has never stopped and Lena never stopped being “the best woman I have ever laid my eyes on”. They recently celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary in their usual quiet way which was conducted by a special Reverend friend.
The Journey Continues...
If we are to declare the amazing things of progress for many in the Christian household that the Almighty is using this man to attain, we may never complete this statement. For God is mightily using this man who prefers “quiet” diplomacy to “shouting from rooftops. Today with his wife in her 70s and the Reverend beginning his 80s, this very modest couple of great substance has never stopped serving God piously, and hope one day you will also be given the opportunity to meet them and see what I mean. May God truly bless Reverend Daniel, Mrs. Himmans, their children, and their missionary work. For, me, Reverend Daniel Himmans-Arday is one of Christianity’s finest in this universal Evangelism.
